Maitake (Grifola frondosa, Hui Shu Hua) is a mushroom used for 1000's of years to boost the immune system and improve feelings of well being. The active ingredient in Maitake is a group of compounds collectively called polysaccharides which include alpha-1,6 glucan, alpha-1,4 glucan, beta-1,3 glucan, beta-1,6 glucan, 1,4-D-glucans, 1,6-D-glucans, glucan phosphate, laminarin, and lentinan which have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Our Maitake capsules uses an 8:1 extract of the fruiting body which is standardised to contain a minimum of 30% polysaccharides and 15% Beta Glucan.
