Zinc and Copper Balance

  • 15mg of elemental zinc as picolinate plus 1mg of copper as bisglycinate
  • Two chelated minerals in a balanced ratio
  • Zinc and Copper each contribute to the normal function of the immune system
Description

Zinc and copper are two essential trace minerals that work closely together in the body — both are required for the formation of superoxide dismutase, an important antioxidant enzyme, and they share absorption pathways in the gut. Long-term zinc supplementation without copper can gradually deplete copper levels, which is why pairing the two minerals in supplements is a sensible approach.

Our Zinc and Copper Balance uses chelated forms of both minerals — zinc picolinate (zinc bound to picolinic acid) and copper bisglycinate (copper bound to the amino acid glycine). Chelated minerals are bound to organic molecules in a way that mimics how minerals appear naturally in food, and are generally well absorbed.

Each tablet provides:

  • Zinc (as picolinate) — 15mg
