Vitamin D3 2000IU

  • 2,000IU of Vitamin D3 (50mcg) per tablet — 1,000% NRV
  • Natural cholecalciferol form, extracted from lanolin
  • Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth
Description

Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is the form of vitamin D produced naturally in the skin in response to sunlight exposure. In the UK, sunlight is only strong enough to produce vitamin D between roughly April and September, and even during those months indoor lifestyles and sunscreen use reduce production. The NHS recommends that adults consider supplementing with at least 10mcg (400IU) daily during autumn and winter.

Our 2,000IU (50mcg) per tablet sits comfortably above the NHS minimum and well within the EFSA Tolerable Upper Intake Level of 100mcg/day. It's a sensible everyday dose for general supplementation throughout the year.

The cholecalciferol used is extracted from lanolin — the same natural source the body uses to produce its own vitamin D. This product is suitable for vegetarians but not suitable for vegans.

Approved EFSA Health Claims for Vitamin D:

  • Contributes to normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus
