Zinc Citrate 30 mg

  • 30mg of elemental zinc per tablet from 100mg of zinc citrate — 300% NRV
  • Triple-strength single-form zinc for those who prefer simple, focused supplementation
  • Zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system
Description

Zinc citrate is one of the more bioavailable forms of zinc, made by binding elemental zinc to citric acid. Studies comparing zinc citrate to other common forms have found absorption to be on a par with zinc gluconate and notably better than zinc oxide, the cheapest form often used in lower-cost supplements.

Our Zinc Citrate tablets deliver 30mg of elemental zinc per tablet — three times the EU Nutrient Reference Value of 10mg. This higher dose is favoured by those who have tested low for zinc or who want focused single-mineral supplementation rather than a complex.

Long-term high-dose zinc supplementation can deplete copper levels in the body. If taking zinc above the NRV for extended periods, consider also supplementing with copper or rotating with a zinc-and-copper combination product.

Approved EFSA Health Claims for Zinc:

Common Cold Cured

At the immediate onset of common cold symptoms, one of these dissolved in my mouth immediately before a night's sleep dramatically reduces the duration of the associated symptoms. The ENT mucus membranes need to be bathed in Zn++ ions overnight. The only downside is it tastes fairly disgusting.
