Zinc and Selenium

  • 15mg of zinc as picolinate plus 100mcg of selenium as L-selenomethionine per tablet
  • Two chelated trace minerals frequently paired for skin, hair and nails
  • Zinc and Selenium each contribute to the maintenance of normal hair, nails and skin
Description

Zinc and selenium are two essential trace minerals that share several functions in the body, particularly in antioxidant defence and the maintenance of skin, hair and nails. Together they support the formation of antioxidant enzymes including superoxide dismutase (zinc-dependent) and glutathione peroxidase (selenium-dependent).

Our tablets use the chelated forms of both minerals: zinc picolinate (zinc bound to picolinic acid) for 15mg of elemental zinc, and L-selenomethionine (selenium incorporated into the amino acid methionine) for 100mcg of selenium. L-selenomethionine is the form found naturally in food and the most bioavailable supplemental form of selenium.

Each tablet provides:

  • Zinc (as picolinate) — 15mg

We use these as they are trusted in quality - but they tend to burn your throat if you don’t swallow them quick and efficiently.
